Ruby::XBee v1.0 Released
I’m pleased to announce the first release of Ruby::XBee, an open source package for accessing and configuring Digi (formerly Maxstream) Series 1 XBee RF modules from the command line.

Why Use Ruby::XBee?
- Ruby::XBee is a convenient way to script the configuration of XBee especially if you have a lot of XBees to program and configure.
- Ruby::XBee lends itself to building command line applications and deploying XBee networks.
- Ruby::XBee is a quick way to experiment with functionality of XBees.
- Ruby::XBee can alleviate the need to memorize lots of XBee AT commands and their parameters. It abstracts those into a more readable and usable API
- Digi has no configuration support for Linux or OS X, so if these are your native or preferred environments, Ruby::XBee may be for you. It fills a host platform gap for many XBee tasks.
- Ruby::XBee is open source and project contributions are welcome (ie: code, docs, evangelism) .
