ET SD/MMC Mini-Board accepts either SD or MMC flash memory cards and provides a breakout for the line control you need to access either type of device.
This little SD/MMC flash memory module has mounting hole patterns that exactly fit the ET-AVR Development board (sold separately) to create a very handy way to do data logging in your project.
Read all about MMC/SD Initialization sequence using this module. See the blog article "SD/MMC SPI Initialization Waveforms".
This module can be used standalone with any micro that supports SPI. A great combination for AVR development is the ET-AVR Stamp with the development board and the SD/MMC module for logging data.
Level Conversion
Note that this a 3.3V module and SD/MMC devices are 3.3V controllers, so you will need to implement 5V to 3.3V level conversion between your 5V micro and this module. There is no built-in level conversion in this module to directly interface the module to a 5V micro. 3.3V micros may go directly to this module with no level conversion, of course. The document below has example circuits that can be made for less than $1 to do 5V to 3.3V signal level conversion.
ET-AVR Development Board and ET-AVR Stamp module are sold separately. See related products below.
