This is a fantastic prototype board on which to learn 28 pin AVR microcontrollers. The board includes a power supply circuit, crystal oscillator circuit, RS232 port, reset IC, status LED, and 10 pin STK ICSP port.
STK200 compatible ICSP 5x2 pin connector for in-circuit programming with AVR-PG1 or AVR-PG2 RS232 Tx, Rx interface with MAX232 IC on socket.

The ATMega AVR chip is sold separately and not included with the development board. You have your choice of 28-pin AVRs to install, but we recommend the ATMega328. Also, if you buy the Olimex AVR P28 bundle deal, you'll get the microcontroller, board, wall wart and enclosure for one low price.
Once your project is up and running, you can slide it into a Chameleon 1 enclosure (sold separately or as a bundle) along with your other project electronics in order to give your project a nice hard shell.
The Chameleon 1 (sold separately or as a bundle) comes with a faceplate already pre-punched for the Olimex AVR-P28 board. The enclosure also has pre-center-punched hole patterns for the AVR-P28 and mounting hardward so you can quickly drill and have a very sold foundation for your board.
