This is an awesome little ATMega128 stamp form factor board which is compatible with breadboards and perfboards or any 0.1" pin spacing substrate.
If you need to learn AVRs, there's no better platform to start with than the ET-AVR stamp and optional development board.

When combined with the optional development board and WinAVR, you have a very inexpensive AVR development system that is very capable.
In order to program this with a JTAG device, you need to buy the optional development board (carrier) as well. Otherwise, see the optional ISP programmer to program the stamp directly without the development board.
An Atmel JTAGICE MKII works very well with the dev board. If you don't have a JTAG ICE, you can also flash the device with an ET-AVR ISP programmer though you won't get source level debugging capability with ISP.
Power it up directly with a regulated +5V (no on-board regulation) or plug it into the companion ET-AVR development board (sold separately) for a full ATMega128 development system.
Microcontroller reset switch is embedded directly on the board.
