Bring your Beagle Board in from the cold - give it a Dog House metal case.  If you are looking for a case for your Beagle Board xM, we have a Dog House for Beagle Board xM also.

The Beagle Board is a great embedded Linux platform, but without an enclosure, it can't take much punishment.  Audio jacks are surface mounted and it's packed with 8 external connectors on 3 sides of the 3"x3" board.  It's not an easy board to wrap in a nice package, so that's why we developed this custom enclosure.
With the Dog House you can protect and mount your Beagle Board for applications like a set-top box, a tiny desktop computer, and facility control rooms or light industrial.
Made of rigid aluminum, the Dog House weighs a mere 3.3 ounces (94 grams).  With a 3-piece design, the Dog House easily encloses your Beagle Board without damaging fragile connectors, especially the audio jacks.   It even helps physically reinforce the external connectors on the board to reduce the likelihood of damaging connectors from torque of repeated insertions and daily use.
The Base
The specially designed base provides four built-in standoffs which let you snap the Beagle Board securely to a firm foundation.  This positions the board for perfect alignment with the face and lid and eliminates any standoffs or PCB screws and also eliminates the need to drill mounting holes.  With the Beagle Board mounted on the base, you can easily access it for development.
When you're ready to go, screw on the corner face and lid and your Beagle Board is ready to deploy.  When you need to get back into the device to debug, it's a very simple disassembly - you can even leave the board on the base during debug.
Mounting
Need to anchor your Dog House? The built-in feet let you mount the Dog House to any solid surface using 4 screws or bolts (not included).  Mount it upside down under a desk or on a wall.  The mounting holes even accommodate the same rubber feet you get with common development boards so you can place it on your desk and it won't slide around or scratch the desktop.
Finish
The Dog House is powder coated black with a fine peeled texture that won't show fingerprints.  It's very resistant to any scratching and is easy to hold.  Raw aluminum won't take paint, but since the Dog House is powder coated, you can even paint it.
Hardware
The Dog House comes with all the fasteners you need to enclose your Beagle Board including:
4 self-drilling screws to secure the lid, corner face, and base
2 small flush-mount screws to secure the lid
With just six screws and the built-in standoffs, it's very quick to install and you get a consistent fit each time.
Dimensions
3.13" x 3.25" x 1.3"H
(The Beagle Board itself is approximately 3.1" x 3.0")
Board Revs
The Dog House for Beagle Board is designed to fit board Revs C2, C3, and C4. Be sure to check the rev of your Beagle Board before ordering the Dog House.

Assembly

Assembly of your Dog House is very straightforward.

For the impatient, abbreviated instructions are:

1) Align, press and snap each mounting hole on the Beagle Board onto the builtin standoffs (the BB is slightly rectangular, so make sure you have the right orientation before you press.)  Do one corner at a time.

2) Align the corner faceplate with the appropriate connectors on the board and screw to the base with two of the included self-cutting, self-tapping screws

3) Align the lid and screw it to the base plate with two included self-tapping screws.  Using two small wedge-head screws (included), attach the lid to the corner faceplate.  You're done.

Detailed Assembly steps

Tools required: one small and one regular phillips screw driver

1) Screw an included self-cutting, self-tapping screw into each of the holes in the base to pre-thread the holes prior to securing the lid and corner faceplate.   Press firmly as you turn.  The first few turns may seem like nothing is happening, but then you'll feel the screw begin to cut.  Once all four screw holes have been tapped, unscrew the base screws.

2) Press and snap the Beagle Board onto the base one corner at a time.  The Beagle Board mounting holes are slightly rectangular so line up the mounting holes with the builtin standoffs.  Using your thumbs, firmly press the board onto the standoffs one corner at a time.   Be careful to not press on the board connectors.  You'll hear a "snap" as the board mounting hole seats securely on a builtin standoff.  The first few times you do it, the board will take a firm press to seat it.  Do not try to seat all four mounting holes at the same time - seat them one at a time.

3) Align the corner faceplate with the appropriate connectors on the Beagle Board.  Using the self-cutting, self-tapping screws, attach the corner faceplate to the base.

4) Align the lid and attach the lid to the base plate with two self-cutting, self-tapping screws.  Using the two small wedge head screws, attach the lid top to the corner faceplate.  You're done.

Assembly Time

The first time you put the enclosure together, as you learn, it might take 8-10 minutes to wrap your board - subsequent assembly is faster.
